Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion (and beyond where needed). Our projects range in size from houses to small apartment buildings. There will be 4-6+ buildings under construction at any time. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and historical renovations, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. This position is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and manage all phases of construction projects.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, architects, and engineers to ensure project objectives are met.
Manage construction site activities to ensure work is executed in accordance with contracts, plans, and specifications.
Monitor and report on project progress, identifying any potential issues or delays.
Oversee project budgets, handle cost estimates, and manage change orders.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental guidelines.
Facilitate effective communication among team members and stakeholders.
Resolve any conflicts or challenges that arise during the construction process.
Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management in the Upstate NY area (with preference in Syracuse)
Proven experience managing mid-sized commercial or residential renovation construction projects.
Experience working on historical renovations (required)
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, processes and financials.
Willing to get your hands dirty and do it all, from getting into the details to overseeing all the people on-site. You will be a one-(wo)man show!
Strong people management skills
Willingness to work in a small company
Proficient in project management software (e.g., ProCore and/or excel).
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Syracuse and the surrounding areas.
Car and valid driver's license, ability to travel daily.
